Refash for Sista Lazzita’s birthday

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LUSCIOUS LAZZY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU

Thanks so much lazzita for sharing your special day with us. The food was delish, (once we got around to eating), the champagne was bubbling and so were our creative juices. We worked on 2 group projects which was really a first. Well, we did do a book for Siggita but that was more individual pieces put together.
We worked on a gift for Lazz…a branch all decorated and full of wonderful creatures. The branch itself was donated by Kezzita from her dear departed garden before the overhaul.
Judita worked very hard on the technical side of the birthday branch we were creating for Lazz. She was winding gorgeous colored thread over the branch and attaching all the items that had been created to adorn it. Bellita spun a web in it which will home Judita sexy spider. Did she end up wearing a dress??

I was felting leaves for the branch and was invited by Lovely Lazzita to felt her boring old rug. I tested this idea out by felting a small leaf in the corner. We might just see how it goes down with the hubbie before I start on a large mandala in the middle. There was even talk of felting Mentoni.

I thought it was wonderful to hear the discussions around color combos and technique.
Kezzita snuck in a tutorial with our resident sculptor Julietta and their butterflies were divine..(and not scary at all Julietta). We’re looking forward to seeing Kezzita produce many more of them….many, many more I’m sure. She’ll need to stock up on one of our favourite products..the old PVA.

Foe group project #2 Lazzita invited us all to make a clay piece representing ourselves and what we bring to the group. She intends to string these together somehow and hang it in her home until the next sisterly birthday where it shall be passed on. How divine!!!!
I just had my birthday… Bugger!

So we created and chatted till late..way past our bedtimes I’m sure. Bellita served some very special tea just before midnight. It was most popular with the herbal tea crew. It smelt great and looked very organic but sadly mine was not consumed. Sorry Bell I’m still working on that herbal tea thing..I really want to be a herbal tea drinker so don’t give up on me yet.

So the sistas were all in attendance and it was  lovely to share ideas and work together...

how many sleeps till soujourn?

The Tree of Sisterhood.
(Inspired by the Sisters of the Birthday Branch)

Just like the tiny little seed that has been planted deep within the soil…….
Sisters cocoon you, nurture and protect you, support and encourage you, and keep you safe, snug and warm.

Just like the rain that wets the soil and seed……..
Sisters are essential for life. They nourish you, cleanse you, keep you to afloat when times are tough, promote growth, and keep you cool and calm in the heat.

Just like the sun that shines its beams upon the wet soil and seed…..
Sisters are star goddesses that provide energy, warmth and light. They dry your tears, nurture you, provide power and strength, and support you to shine and radiate your own unique inner light.

Just like the roots that penetrate deep into the soil…..
Sisters provide an anchor of support and nourishment, a trusting and safe base for you to learn and share, and to be your true self without judgement or fear.

Just like a tiny shoot that breaks the surface of the ground….
Sisters provide love, courage and inspiration that fuel your passion to follow your dreams and aim for the stars and beyond!.

Just like the strong and stable trunk and branches….
Sisters feed your heart and soul, connecting the outer to the inner, bringing out the best in one another to allow you to grow and blossom.

Just like the leaves that grow up towards the sun and provide life-giving oxygen….
Sisters provide a safe haven for you to nest, feeding your creative energies and inspiring you to shoot forth your special talents and gifts to feed to the world.

Just like the colourful flowers….
Sisters have such incredible and extraordinary beauty which is the sweet nectar that inspires you to open up, sprout and blossom, and most importantly to have succulent good fun!

Just like the fruit that the tree bears….
Sisters are like a bundle of mixed fruit, each so different and unique, each so special in their own way, each to make you laugh until you cry, each to pick and enjoy and make you feel very nourished and happy

Sisters do feed the soul….. they plant you, protect you, nurture you, love you and cherish your growth.

Lazzita Darling,

What a fabuloso poem! You must have spent ages writing that! Like all the very best poems, it speaks directly from the heart. I will come back to that again every time I need an uplift and there isn't a Sister handy! You are a very special woman, with a lot of love to give the world. Keep on doing exactly what you are doing.

oh Lazzita,...how divine..yet another talent uncovered!!!! That is such a beautiful poem. Perhaps you could read it as part of the initiation for the 2 new sistas..sista Joita and sista Robita..I think a poem reading would be wonderful and that piece says it all
