part 2 - The Studio, the Pub and the Footy

part 2
The studio the Pub and the Footy
Well, Kezzita was off and running at the crack of dawn, or so it seemed. She was keen to find the best possible position for herself and her beloved machine, preferably one with a view.
Judita was the last to arise after a long and  very well deserved sleep in. Sassita found herself having a quiet and reflective morning and realised she needed to give herself permission not to produce but to just be.
Lazzita wondered the grounds communing with nature, Julietta spread her works over the viewing board and revelled in the studio spcae and dear Bellita diligently pulled out that project that simply must get finished, she'd gone to far on that refashed jumper to turn back now.
After a few hours several sistas decided to head to DTL (down town Lancie) to check out the scene...the market/op-shop scene that is. The 2 book-a-holic sistas returned with a booty from the special little book shop they had sniffed out. And Bellita picked up at the op-y as she does...not only did she find some goodies but she also found....JOITA. So  Juicy Joita floated in soon after and it seemed like she'd been with us all along.

So there we were doing our own thing but very much together;  being together and being apart in a very comfortable way. By early afternoon Kezita remembered it was grand final day. Not a big priority for the sistas generally...footy v felting = felting..footy v drawing = drawing...footy v staring at a wall = wall..
We were unable to get a score on any of our phones and we weren't too fussed.
Joita suggested a walk so Kezita and Sassita donned the running shoes and walking gear, making Joita rethink her stroll through the country streets. So where should they go but to the local pub, just to check those scores. Well I must say for someone who has quite an aversion to footy, I found myself ooooing and ahhhing along with all the locals. And what a fabulous place to watch the last 10 mins of a drawn match. The locals were there swearing and cursing, the carpet smelt like stale beer and a  part of me really wanted to order a beer,  light a cigarette and get the sistas down for a big night.
But we weren't having that sort of weekend...and I haven't smoked for years so we continued our walk instead. Whew! Maybe next trip??

When we arrived back Sassita ran straight over to the studio to share the news of the drawn match with the sistas. They weren't nearly as excited as those locals let me tell you.

Late afternoon we began a group project to make a special doll for special Lazz. We all contributed and she was divine. She seemed to hold all that is special about our gatherings. Hopefully she will remind Lazzy that she is always surrounded and nurtured by our love.

We worked in the studio right through till dark when  mosies the size of small aeroplanes were starting to feed on us. We moved into the house and sat down to a dinner that was large enough to feed both the footy teams that had played that day..probably the WAGS as well. Lazzita and Julietta cooked up a feast..you could taste the love.

Just before bed there were massages and foot spas but no pillow fights.

Refash sistas do Sewjourn

Refash sistas do Sewjourn
PART 1
Setting Off

Well we made it to sewjourn...all of us except Robita who was holidaying elsewhere. Our cars were stacked up high with way too much food, 1 too many sewing machines, far too much wine and excessive amounts of chocolate. We could easily have stayed a week with the supplies we had.
The trip up was fine for half the girls arriving on time and cosying the place up. The second car load on the other hand took twice the time to get there. One sista (who shall not be named) took the car keys with her and they had to drive back to hand them to her poor husband. She was not as calm as she is known to be and many inappropriate words past her lips. They then took a unplanned detour through Woodend so decided to get a traveller at the bottle shop. To ease the pain they met a very spunky younger man and a Judita look-a-like, which made the whole detour worthwhile.

Stay tuned for

NUNO FELTING

Hello Sistas. I've been enjoying receiving posts from COLOURlovers.com, and today's one led me to this fantastic scarf! I thought all you felting sistas might like to experiment with nuno felting. Looks just sumptous!

Like Joita, I'm waiting for some photos of Sewjourn from you lot with the cameras... going slow aren't you?... ;-) x x x
